Dr. Milan Maharjan

(Chairperson)

After completing her MBBS from Sun Yat-Sen Medical University in China in 1998, Dr. Maharjan worked in various wings of Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, including an extended stint in the ENT Department, where her interest in the Otology field was ignited. In pursuance of her interest in ENT, Dr. Maharjan enrolled for postgraduate program and obtained her MS degree in ENT from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Science in 2005. She subsequently returned to Kathmandu and joined the ENT Department of the prestigious Kathmandu Medical College in 2006, rising to become Assistant Professor. She is an Executive Member of Britain Nepal Otology Services (BRINOS), and has been volunteering for BRINOS since 2006. She also runs a free medical clinic in various areas of Patan for the less privileged section of the population. She has participated in dozens of mobile ear surgical camps in remote parts of Nepal purely on charity basis, during one of which the idea of quitting her lucrative job to involve herself in social work aimed at bettering the lives of underprivileged children was born. Ear Care Nepal is the fruit of that idea.

Mr. Puru Risal

(Vice-Chairman)

Nobody could understand the acute disadvantages of living a life with hearing impairment better than Mr. Puru Risal, a senior journalist by profession and father of a deaf child. No wonder that he eagerly accepted the opportunity to involve himself fully for this foundation. Mr. Risal, who is a President, Nepal UNESCO Journalist Association; Executive Committee Member, Nepal Editors Society, is a vital member of Ear Care Nepal.

Dr. Rajesh Man Rajbhandari

(General Secretary)

A Program Director/ Public Health Researcher, Center for Molecular Dynamics Nepal “CMDN”/ Intrepid Nepal, he also joined hands to act on his keen sense of social responsibility by contributing in the fight against the scourge of deafness.

Dr. Prakash Kafle

Upon hearing of the project and its goals, it did not take any convincing for Dr. Milan’s friend, Dr. Prakash Kafle, a Senior Consultant ENT surgeon to agree to contribute for this noble cause. He is consultant ENT surgeon at HAMS- Hospital. Regardless of very busy schedule he has given time for Ear Care Nepal to fulfill his responsibility towards the society. 

Dr. Gautami Shakya

Consultant ENT surgeon with special interest in Pediatric ENT, who is working at the International Friendship Children’s Hospital, has pledged full support to the quest to serve the needy by dedicating valuable time to the foundation.

Mr. Dharmapal Dongol

A dedicated Audiologist/Speech Therapist has extended full support to fight against deafness and has become an important part of the Ear Care Nepal family. He currently works at Grande International hospital. With special interest in pediatric speech and hearing he is in-house audiologist and speech therapist of Ear Care Nepal.
