After completing her MBBS from Sun Yat-Sen Medical University in China in 1998, Dr. Maharjan worked in various wings of Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, including an extended stint in the ENT Department, where her interest in the Otology field was ignited. In pursuance of her interest in ENT, Dr. Maharjan enrolled for postgraduate program and obtained her MS degree in ENT from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Science in 2005. She subsequently returned to Kathmandu and joined the ENT Department of the prestigious Kathmandu Medical College in 2006, rising to become Assistant Professor. He is consultant ENT surgeon at HAMS- Hospital. Regardless of very busy schedule he has given time for Ear Care Nepal to fulfill his responsibility towards the society.
