Ear screening program details of Tarun Secondary School,

Balaju, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Shristi Subba, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms Sangita Dhakal, Ms. Karina Giri, Ms. Roshna Shrestha, Ms Lea Savard

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 1644
• Total number of students with normal findings: 888 (54.01%)
• Total number of students with wax: 638 (38.81%)
  • Wax with hearing loss: 10
• Total number of students with external ear probelm: 12 (0.73%)
• Total number of students with middle ear probelm: 106 (6.45%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 41 (2.49%)
  • CHL: 41
