Ear screening program details of Kag Chode Gumba School, Kagbeni, Upper Mustang

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal which included ENT Surgeon: Dr. Milan Maharjan, Dr. Susanne Von, Der Heider, Lama Tsering Tashi, Audio-technician: Ms. Prity Maharjan, Community Ear Assistant:Mana Shrestha, Mr. Naresh Shakya, Mrs. Beatriz, Mr. Txaber.

Active participation and support was provided by the teacher during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 49
• Total number of students with normal finding: 35(71.4%)
• Total number of students with wax: 6(12.2%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problem: 8(16.3%)

  • Retracted TM: 2
  • ASOM: 2
• SNHL: 0
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 4 (8.2%)
• Total number of students requiring ear surgery: 3
