Ear screening program details of Shree Nepal Rastrya Nirman Secondary School

Mulpani, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Samjhana Phuyal, Dr. Santosh Kumar, Mr. Binay Bikram Adhikari, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Alina Madhikarmi & Ms. Elina Maharjan.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 555
• Total number of students with normal findings: 362 (65.22%)
• Total number of students with wax: 142 (25.58%)
• Total number of students with external ear problem: 3 (0.54%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 46 (8.28%)
• SNHL: 2 (0.36%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 17 (3.06%)
• Total number of students requiring ear surgery: 11
