Ear screening program details of Viswa Niketan Secondary School

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Samjhana Phuyal, Mr. Binay Bikram Adhikari, Ms. Mana Shrestha, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Alina Madhikarmi, Ms. Elina Maharjan & Ms. Ramita Maharjan.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 723
• Total number of students with normal findings: 431 (59.61%)
• Total number of students with wax: 207 (28.63%)
• Total number of students with external ear problems: 3 (0.41%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 76 (10.51%)
• SNHL: 5 (0.69%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 26 (3.59%)
  • SNHL: 5
  • CHL: 20
  • Mixed HL: 1
• Total number of students requiring ear surgery: 15
