Ear screening program details of Mitra Basic School

Chabahil, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Samjhana Phuyal, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Alina Madhikarmi, Ms. Elina Maharjan, Ms. Beatriz de Francisco & Mr. Txaber Ingunza.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 104
• Total number of students with normal findings: 50 (48.07%)
• Total number of students with wax: 30 (28.84%)
• Total number of students with external ear problems: 1 (0.96%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 22 (21.15%)
• SNHL: 1 (0.96%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 10 (9.61%)
