Ear screening program details of Bhagwati Secondary School

Jarsinghpauwa, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Samjhana Phuyal, Mr. Binay Bikram Adhikari, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Alina Madhikarmi & Ms. Elina Maharjan.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 288
• Total number of students with normal findings: 186 (64.58%)
• Total number of students with wax: 71 (24.65%)
• Total number of students with external ear problems: 2 (0.69%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 27 (9.37%)
• SNHL: 2 (0.69%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 9 (3.12%)
• Total number of students requiring ear surgery: 4
