Ear screening program details of Guheswori Secondary School

Tripureswor, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Milan Maharjan, Mr. Binay Bikram Adhikari, Ms. Mana Shrestha, Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Alina Madhikarmi & Ms. Elina Maharjan.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 160
• Total number of students with normal findings: 108 (67.5%)
• Total number of students with wax: 33 (20.62%)
• Total number of students with external ear problem: 0
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 18 (11.25%)
• SNHL: 1 (0.62%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 9 (5.62%)
• Total number of students requiring ear surgery: 7
