Ear screening program details of Gyanodaya Secondary School,

Bafal, Kathmandu

Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal: Dr. Namita Shrestha, Dr. Shristi Subba, Dr. Samjhana Phuyal, Dr. Rajesh Maharjan, Ms. Smriti Shrestha , Ms. Prity Maharjan, Ms. Rashmi Maharjan, Ms Rosy Bajracharya, Ms. Elina Maharjan & Ms. Kareena Giri.

Active participation and support was provided by the teachers during entire program.

• Total number of students ear screened: 2469
• Total number of students with normal findings: 1556 (46.82%)
• Total number of students with wax: 774(31.34%)
• Total number of students with external ear problem: 9(0.36%)
• Total number of students with middle ear problems: 130 (5.26%)
• Total number of students with hearing loss: 53 (2.14%)
