Ear screening program details of Shree Bajra Barahi Higher Secondary School, Chapagaon, Lalitpur

Screening program is conducted in collaboration between Chief District Office, District Education Office, District Public Health Office, District Local Development Office and Ear Care Nepal.
Screening program was carried out by a team from Ear Care Nepal which included ENT Surgeon: Dr. Milan Maharjan, Audio-technician: Ms. Ramita Maharjan and Volunteers: Mr. Ashok Maharjan, Ms. Brita Shakya, Ms. Gita Maharjan.
Active participation and support was provided by the Principal and all the teachers during entire program.
- Total number of students screened: 438
- Total number of students with normal findings: 308(70.31%)
- Total number of students with wax: 90 (20.54%)
- Total number of students with middle ear problem: 40 (9.13%)
- Acute Otitis Media: 11
- Chronic Otitis Media “TT”: 16
- Chronic Otitis Media “AA”: 2
- Total number of students with hearing loss: 27
- Conductive hearing loss: 24
- Sensori-Neural Hearing Loss: 3
- CSOM/ ASOM with near normal hearing: 5
Students needing middle ear surgery: 10
